Why We Choose Bamboo Over Cotton 🤍✨

Why We Choose Bamboo Over Cotton 🤍✨

Why We Choose Bamboo Over Cotton 🤍✨

When it comes to dressing our babies and families, comfort isn’t optional — it’s everything.

At Made of Dreams, we carefully choose bamboo fabric over traditional cotton for a reason. Actually… for a lot of reasons.

Let’s talk about why.

🌿 1. Bamboo Is Incredibly Soft (Like… Next-Level Soft)

If you’ve ever felt bamboo fabric, you know.

It has that silky, buttery softness that feels cool to the touch and gentle against the skin. Unlike standard cotton, which can feel stiff or textured, bamboo has a smooth, drapey feel that stays soft wash after wash.

For babies, toddlers, and sensitive skin? That softness matters.

🌡️ 2. Bamboo Is Naturally Temperature Regulating

One of the biggest reasons we love bamboo is its ability to adapt.

Bamboo fabric is breathable and moisture-wicking, which means it helps keep littles cool in warm weather and cozy when it’s chilly. Cotton tends to trap heat and hold moisture, while bamboo allows airflow and pulls moisture away from the skin.

Less overheating.
Less discomfort.
More peaceful sleep.

đź’§ 3. Better for Sensitive Skin

Bamboo fabric is naturally gentle and less likely to irritate sensitive or eczema-prone skin. It’s smooth, breathable, and doesn’t have the rough fibers that some cotton fabrics can develop over time.

When you’re dressing a newborn or a child with sensitive skin, that difference truly shows.

🌎 4. A More Thoughtful Production Choice

Cotton requires large amounts of water to grow. Bamboo grows quickly and regenerates naturally without the same level of irrigation.

At Made of Dreams, we already focus on preorder production to prevent overproduction and waste. Choosing bamboo aligns with that same intentional mindset — creating only what’s needed, in a fabric that’s durable, long-lasting, and thoughtfully produced.

Less excess.
Less waste.
More intention.

🧸 5. Stretch That Grows With Your Little One

Bamboo fabric has natural stretch and recovery, meaning it moves with your child — not against them.

Our pieces are designed to last through growth spurts, playground days, and cozy nights. Cotton can lose shape over time, but bamboo keeps its softness and flexibility longer.

✨ Why It Matters to Us

As a mom of three, I care deeply about what touches my children’s skin.

Made of Dreams was created from nostalgia, warmth, and that feeling of 90’s Saturday mornings — but it was also created with intention. Choosing bamboo allows us to offer:

• Comfort that lasts
• Inclusive sizing for the whole family
• Softness that feels like a hug
• And quality worth passing down

Because childhood should feel magical — and comfortable.

At the end of the day, cotton has its place. But for our family, and for the families we create for, bamboo just feels better 🤍✨
